The most engaging life I've ever had

exciting, fun, a little intimidating, definitely worth it.

I gave blood today.

Shhh! Don't tell mom or she will go postal on me. Apparently my blood is a precious commodity and I gave it up for a couple juice boxes and a cookie. Afterwards I went to the admissions hall for a meeting with the assistant dean of student activities for our group project and Mrs. Alberson and Eric walked right past me on my way out. Unfortunately I didn't know it was them at the time, so we were like two blades of grass being cut in the dark. After helping another lady find the building she was looking for and my class, I went to the Wycliffe banquet with Ryan Harrison. It was a really great banquet. If you've never been to one, you should go.

Are you aware that there are many different “Bible” versions today claiming to be the Word of God? Each one tells us that it is the most reliable, most accurate, etc. etc.. But which of them is God’s Word? Since they all disagree with one another, we can’t possibly say that they all are. Can we? Are we to suppose that God has written more than one Bible and that he makes statements in one and then disagrees with himself in another? No, of course not. God only wrote one Bible. How, then, do we go about determining which “Bible” is the Bible? If we look to human opinion for the answer, we will find nearly as many opinions as we find people. One person will like one. Another person will prefer another. Yet a third person will assure us that it really doesn’t matter, telling us that any of them will do just fine. Since we aren’t interested in human opinion here, we need to look to scripture for help in resolving this issue. There are two questions that we will need to consider. (1) Which are the correct manuscripts?
(2) Which is the proper translation of those (the correct) manuscripts?

They all disagree with one another huh? I'd like you to show me where. If you can't your whole argument is a piece of trash.

Josh,
May God give you discernment as you research this very important subject. For Christ gave BLOOD at the cross for all of us. And satan wants to remove it. Please check out the two links below. prayerfully KJV

All of us, huh? Then why aren't all of us saved? Is His blood ineffective? Did Jesus not say that the devil could not remove any of His children from His hand? I'm sorry, but you really need to read the Bible a little more.

You are still ignoring my first questions, and even if minor word choice did result in a translational discrepancy, who is to say that King James is the one to go with? Since human opinion is so untrustworthy, should we not all be required to learn the original language so as to not need a translation? And shouldn't we all wait for God to tell us what He intended by the original translation since we are obviously unqualified to understand that on our own?

Sorry, that was a little harsh, but that's what I believe your argument leads to and unless you use scripture, I cannot accept it.

Josh, have you done any research at all on where or how we got our Bible? Just because it says Holy Bible on the cover does not make it the WORD of God! The new versions have some words of God but they are not all the words of God. All the words of God are the WORD of God.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
Psalm 119:160

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Proverbs 30:5-6

Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:104-105

Josh, can you honestly answer the guestions found at the link below?www.biblediscernment.com/research.html

Thanks for the comment Tamara, it's great to hear from you again!

Dear KJV,
I finally got enough time to read all the links you provided. As I read, I considered it to be quite humorous that I decided to engage you in this debate, seeing as I read solely from a KJV up until it finished falling apart last year
and I got a NASB to replace it.
I researched translations and attempted to discriminate between the KJV, NASB, and ESV as I made my choice. Now I would agree that there are many translations that cannot be held as the inspired word of God, (message, NLT, Apocryphal books, Book of Mormon and Koran) but that does not mean that translators are currently unable to be productive in taking the Hebrew/Greek Bible and putting
it into my language.

I noticed that your links could find no evil against the ESV and that the objections to a lot of other translations were quite unfounded.

I did answer all your questions honestly, although there were several that I answered with "no"s or laughed at because they posed a false dichotomy or were absolutely and completely irrelevant. Those would include questions 3,7,11 and
24.

Anyway, you have still not respond to my questions, and until you do, I am going to consider this discussion complete.

Please, no more wordy links and unfounded allegations.

How did this discussion get started on the KJV? I don't even see it mentioned in the post.

IU beat Purdue in the blood drive, Ha Ha Ha! :) And I think that's more important than a bunch of grown men running around in tights trying to kill each other over an inflated bag of animal skin.
I thought your blood pressure was too low, so how could you give blood, and why would you give blood (other than it saves lives)?

Well, you see Emily, the truth is that our bodies are very amazing creations that recycle and regenerate their entire blood system about every 120 days because blood cells, like most other cells, do indeed die. So I can give blood (to save lives) and my body will just pretend like a bunch of cells all died at once and my bone marrow will make a bunch more! While this leaves me shot of a little blood for a little while, I don't plan on having any major limb severings or arterial ruptures any time soon, and the blood bank need my highly educated (A+) blood more than I do.

And there you have it!

Oh and I usually also get a free t-shirt. :) Not this time though. :(
